ADA Acoustics & Media Consultants GmbH

After the defeat of the German division, and upon meeting the objective requirements, the engineering firm ADA Acoustic Design Ahnert was initially founded with two colleagues. From day one, the software program EASE, which was at that time still DOS-based, was available. As a result, the feasibility of room- and electro-acoustic designs could be efficiently verified. Large projects during the early 90s, such as the planning of a new sound reinforcement system for the German Opera (Deutsche Oper) in Berlin, supported the start-up phase.

A similar experience was gathered during the reconstruction of the Plenary Assembly of the Parliament in Ankara, where in 1996, for the first time, a fingerprint system for the identification of the Members of Parliament was introduced, which is still in operation in its original form till today. The number of awarded contracts in the country and abroad was then increasing as well as the number of employees. In 2010, the activities profile of the sole-property company ADA Acoustic Design Ahnert was transferred to ADA Acoustics & Media Consultants GmbH. Major tasks are still ahead of our team, such as the extensive Al Maktoum International Airport, which is currently under construction and is intended in its first construction phase to serve around 120 million passengers per year.

The church was completely reconstructed. It was important to note that the surviving contemporaries of the church were said to have very good acoustic characteristics. By means of old organ recordings before the destruction in the 2. World War and using computer simulations, the later measured acoustic characteristics could already be determined by late 90's, thus still in the building phase, see interior model:

In the church there are a total of 2 Intellivox DS-280 digitally controlled line arrays in the floor and 34 Intellivox DS-115 covering areas in the galleries (both types of DURAN Audio - Holland) and two subwoofers at the height of the prayer rooms: these digitally controlled, at that time modern, line arrays have been largely hidden in stainless steel housings and can be perceived  as ventilation outlets.

Building acoustics, of course, had to meet the requirements of our modern times, since noise immission protection is required by law and corresponding disturbing external and internal noise sources were less available in earlier times: It was especially with the doors, windows, ventilation systems etc. respected. Also, a separation of the tower climbing path from the interior had to be done by glazing in the upper dome.
